Frequently Asked Questions
1. What qualifies as a small and midsized 501(c)(3)?
The workshop is designed for representatives of organizations that are new (five years old or less), and for people who are new to tax compliance issues of 501(c)(3) organizations. Attendees from organizations that have gross annual receipts of $1,000,000 or less have reported that the workshop was worthwhile. Individuals from larger organizations or with more tax compliance experience have also told us the workshops were beneficial, but we do not cover what some might consider "advanced" topics in any of the sessions.
2. Does the workshop qualify for CPE credits?
The IRS office of Exempt Organizations is a qualified sponsor of professional education for Enrolled Agents. We provide a Certificate of Attendance for any attendee who would like one as long as he or she stays for the entire day. The Certificate provides a brief description of the topic and the length of each of the five technical sessions. Some past attendees have reported that the Certificate meets the requirements of their particular accrediting organization. However, the workshop has not been pre-approved for continuing professional education for attorneys or CPAs, so you may want to check with your accrediting agency in advance. Credentials of the IRS instructors are available upon request.
3. When and where will the workshops be presented?
A listing of locations and dates can be found on the home page.
4. How long is the workshop?
The workshop runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a scheduled break between 11:30 - 12:30. (Lunch is not provided)
5. Should I attend on all three days?
Since the content of each workshop is the same on each day and in all locations, it is not necessary to attend multiple locations or days.
